Plagiarism Policy
Originality is an integral part of responsible academic publishing and the International Journal For Research In Mechanical & Civil Engineering (IJRMCE) values it. Plagiarism is not allowed; all authors are expected to only submit original work and appropriately cite all sources.
Manuscripts submitted for publication are subject to plagiarism and/or significant similarity checks. If significant overlap or plagiarism is detected, the journal may take appropriate action.
Author Responsibilities
The authors are expected to:
- Submit only original research that has not been published elsewhere.
- Properly acknowledge and cite the work, ideas, data, and words of other authors.
- Use quotation marks and appropriate references when directly using another author's wording.
- Avoid copying or presenting another person's work, ideas, results, or data as their own.
- Ensure that the manuscript is not simultaneously submitted to another journal.
- Obtain appropriate permission when using copyrighted material where required.
- Ensure that all listed authors have genuinely contributed to the submitted work.
Plagiarism Screening
Plagiarism or similarity screening of manuscripts will be carried out in the editorial process and in the peer-review process. If substantial similarity is determined by the journal, clarification and/or revisions may be requested.
Plagiarism is not necessarily the same as similarity; there may be some similarity with respect to references, common terms, technical terms, or in the description of methodology. The similarity is assessed on a case by case basis.
Action in Cases of Plagiarism
In the event of plagiarism or serious duplication being established IJRMCE may take any or all of the following measures:
- Reject the manuscript before publication.
- Request an explanation from the authors.
- Withdraw or retract an article that has already been published.
- Notify the relevant institution or organization when appropriate.
- Restrict future submissions from authors involved in serious or repeated misconduct.
The ultimate responsibility for the originality and integrity of the work submitted rests with the author(s). IJRMCE is dedicated to upholding ethical publication and ensuring the integrity of the academic record.
